Book a Learning Visit

DATES FOR 2025-26 NOW OPEN!

During your visit your learners will have exclusive use of our museum and take part in up to three workshops (depending on the activity booked). All of our activities last between 60-90 minutes and we can accommodate a maximum of 30 learners in our museum per activity. All classes must be accompanied by a minimum of three adults (not including museum staff and volunteers).

We can offer two activities a day, morning and/or afternoon, for a maximum of two classes and they are available on a limited basis during term time.

If you have more than 30 learners in your class or would like to book for more than two classes, please contact us at learning@theroyalregimentofscotland.org so we can look at how we can accommodate your booking.

Fees for 2025-26

Sessions are priced per class at the following flat rate fees:

One class (one activity – half day visit): £60

Two classes (two activities – full day visit): £90

Three or more classes (taken over multiple dates): £50 per class

We accept payments via cheque or bank transfer if your school is paying us directly, or through BACS if the payment is coming from your local authority council. We are currently registered with all councils in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Schools in Scotland can apply for a travel subsidy of 75% of transportation costs, up to a maximum of £300 through Historic Environment Scotland. For more information on eligibility criteria and how to apply, please click here
